USTFCCCA Names All Division III Indoor Track & Field Qualifiers All-Americans

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – All-America honors for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Normal policies dictate that All-America honors are awarded to student-athletes who score any portion of a team point (top-eight in the final of an individual event or as a member of a top-eight placing relay event) at the NCAA Championships.

In lieu of conduction of the national championship this season, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Committee adopted new criteria. Based on the selected participants for the national championships initially announced by the NCAA on Sunday, March 8, the following will be recognized as All-America for the 2020 Indoor Track & Field season: all student-athletes declared and initially accepted into their event, including all relay members.

The Tartans had three men qualify. Senior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) was going to return to the national meet for the third time with his second consecutive appearance in the mile run. Senior Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) planned on joining Yukevich in the mile while junior Graham Eversden (Chandler, Ariz. / Chandler) planned to compete in the 800-meter run.

Yukevich recorded a season-best time in the mile of 4:13.19 at the Bucknell Tune Up which seeded him sixth while Walsh qualified with a personal-best time of 4:14.36 at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet and seeded him 12th. Eversden recorded a personal-best time at Tufts to seed him 11th at the national meet after he crossed the line in 1:53.56.
