(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – On the final day of the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, three Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field athletes earned All-America Honors. The three-day championships were held at the Irwin Belk Track Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Senior Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) garnered his second All-America accolade of the championships on Saturday with a second-place finish in the shot put after tossing the element 17.86 meters. Miller becomes the first Tartan to earn two All-American honors at the outdoor championships in the same year.
Junior Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) and freshman Andrew McGovern (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) each earned the first All-America honor of their career. Kiefel placed eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 14.58 meters while McGovern finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time 54.81.
The Tartans placed 16th as a team, the highest finish in program history at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and earned four All-American honors, also the most in program history at the championships.
