Breidenbach Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Freshman Cody Breidenbach (Nazareth, Pa. / Nazareth Area) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events following his performance at the Roanoke Invitational Challenge. He helped the Tartans win the 12-team challenge on Saturday with a first and third place showing in the throwing events.

Breidenbach won the weight throw shattering his previous school record of 18.04 meters with a toss of 18.50 meters. The freshman also placed third in the shot put with a season-best mark of 14.83 meters. His mark in the weight throw is currently tops in the UAA and fourth nationally.

The Tartans will compete next at the Bucknell Tune Up on Friday, February 18 and the Mount Union Tune Up on Saturday, February 19.
