OBroin Earns UAA Outdoor Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events following his performance at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic over the weekend.

Michael OBroin placed fifth in a field of 95 runners from Division I, II and III institutions in the 5,000-meter run. The senior crossed in 14:08.49 breaking the school record by 19.75 seconds which was held by Brian Harvey set in 2009. That same year, Harvey went on and placed second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. OBroin's time currently ranks him top in the UAA and third nationally in Division III.

The Tartans will next compete at the University Athletic Association Outdoor Championships on April 23-24 at Washington University in St. Louis.
