Kiefel Repeats as All-American on Final Day of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships

(GENEVA, Ohio) – On the final day of the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, senior Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team repeats as All-American in the triple jump. The three-day championships are being held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Kiefel earned his second consecutive All-America accolade in the triple jump at the outdoor championships Saturday. He recorded a jump of 15.16 meters and placed third. His distance topped hos previous school record of 14.93 meters. His All-America honor marks the third for his career including the indoor season.

Freshman Cody Breidenbach (Nazareth, Pa. / Nazareth Area) competed in the hammer throw on Saturday and placed 10th with a toss of 55.74 meters.

On the track, graduate student Grant Johnson (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) took ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.05, freshmen Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) placed 13th in the 1,500-meter run crossing in 4:06.21 while senior Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) finished 14th in the 5,000-meter in 14:46.49.

The Tartans placed 21st as a team with 13 points and earned three All-American honors at the championships.
