McLaughlin Named UAA Runner Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Colin McLaughlin of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events. The sophomore earns the honor following his performance at the SPIRE Midwest Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, January 21.

McLaughlin broke the school record in the 3,000-meter run, as he placed first in the race with a time of 8:22.52 breaking George Degen's school record time of 8:22.89 which was set in 2015. McLaughlin's time currently ranks eighth nationally and is tops in the UAA.

The Tartans will compete again at the Muskingum University on January 28.
