Karee Receives UAA Accolade

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The junior led the 7th-ranked Tartans to their fourth first-place showing of the year and fifth top performance against a Division III field when the team won the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday.

Karee was the first Tartan to cross the finish line on the 8k course with a time of 24:27.1 to place fifth overall in a field of 256 runners.

The Tartans will next compete at the UAA Championships at home in Schenley Park, on Saturday, November 2.
