(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – By winning the 2022 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship this past Saturday, the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team automatically qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships which will be held at Forest Akers in Lansing, Michigan, on Saturday, November 19. It marks the Tartans' eighth straight team appearance at the championships and 15th in the last 16 years.

Carnegie Mellon won its regional meet for the fourth straight time and did so this year by placing five runners in the top eight with all seven runners finishing in the top 25, as they all garnered Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors. The Tartans, who won the program's sixth regional championship since 2008, will enter the meet ranked 11th nationally.

Four Tartans on this year's regional championship team competed at last year's NCAA Championships where the Tartans placed 12th, their best finish under eight-year head coach Tim Connelly.

The men's race will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET after the women's race which is set to start at 11:00 a.m. ET.
