The Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Anne Alosa as a full-time women’s basketball assistant coach. Alosa comes to Pittsburgh with five years of coaching experience, including three years as a collegiate assistant coach.

Senior Emily Peel (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) and freshman Liza Otto (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches with selections to the All-UAA team announced Wednesday, February 27. Peel is a repeat member on the first team while Otto becomes the first Tartan freshman to make the second team since the 2008-09 season.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team is in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South tournament after finishing the regular season with the best record in program history since 2002-03. The Tartans won 13 games, including five in the University Athletic Association. The Tartans only other appearance in the ECAC tournament came in 1999-2000 when they defeated Grove City for the title.
