Catherine Or Named D3hoops.com Region 7 Co-Rookie of the Year

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Freshman Catherine Or (Los Angeles, Calif. / Marlborough School) pulled in the D3hoops.com Region 7 Rookie of the Year award, becoming the third Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball player to earn the recognition under 11-year head coach Jacquie Hullah. Or shares the honor with Bethany College's Lindsey Garrison while also earning placement on the third team.

Or led the Tartans in four major statistical categories including points per game, field-goal percentage, assists per game, and steals per game. The first-year Tartan finished the 25-game season, which included an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship, averaging 14.4 points per game, 3.4 assists per game, and 2.2 steals per game, with a shooting percentage of .500. Additionally, Or was second on the team in rebounding with 7.8 rebounds per game and collected six double-doubles while averaging 32.8 minutes a game.

Or joins Liza Otto (2012-13) and Lisa Murphy (2013-14) as the other Carnegie Mellon women's basketball players to be named D3hoops.com Region Rookie of the Year.
