Hullah Reaches Career Win 300 in Tartans’ 91-56 Victory at Geneva

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team won its eighth straight game and remains undefeated after a 91-56 victory at Geneva College on Wednesday, December 7. The victory marks head coach Jacquie Hullah's 300th career win with a career that spans 24 seasons.

How it Happened

  • The Tartans led 30-19 after the first quarter, shooting 54.2% from the floor in the opening frame.
  • The Tartans' scoring cooled off in the second period to 33.3% but the Golden Tornadoes hit just 12.5% from the floor and the Tartans extended their lead from 11 points to 23.
  • Sophomore Isha Nambisan scored 11 of her game-high 13 points in the first half, including hitting three from behind the arc.
  • The Tartans collected a season-high 19 steals in the win with sophomore Catherine Or leading with five.

For the Tartans

  • Five players scored in double figures for the Tartans with sophomore Isha Nambisan leading the team with 13 points off the bench.
  • Or recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
  • Freshman Bethany Carlin dropped in a career-best 10 points off the bench.
  • Freshman Ellen Angwin picked up a career-best seven rebounds.

For the Golden Tornadoes

  • Mia San Nicolas led the team with 12 points and six rebounds.

Notes

  • The Tartans scored 91 points for the second straight game and are averaging 78.4 points per game.
  • Nearly half of Hullah's 300 wins have come at Carnegie Mellon, as she now has 143 wins in 11 full seasons on the Tartans' sideline.
