Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s golf team was named to the Division III All-Region East Team by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The honor marks the first for the sophomore and program.

Freshman Carly Jordan of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Golf Rookie of the Year when the UAA announced its league awards on Monday, May 9. Joining Jordan on the All-Association Team are sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) and senior Yoon Hee Ha (Tigard, Ore./Tigard).

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the Westminster Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 23, as the Tartans won their fourth event of the season. Carnegie Mellon carded a team score of 353 to close the season with three straight victories. The 18-hole event was held at New Castle Country Club.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team won its second straight spring tournament, topping the field of four teams with a round of 333 on Thursday, April 21 at the Saint Vincent Invitational held at the par-70 Glengarry Golf Links. The win also marked the Tartans' third victory in as many tries on the course.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team won the Grove City College Spring Invitational for the second consecutive year after carding a team score of 344. Allegheny College placed second with a score of 367.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team closed play at the 2016 Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday, March 20. The Tartans finished 13th with a three-round total of 990 (330-318-342) on the par-72, 5,801-yard course at the Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island. The 54-hole tournament was comprised of 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally. The Tartans' 990 is the best three-round score in the programs young history.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team set a new school record during the second day of the 2016 Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday, March 19. The Tartans fired a team score of 318 which tops the previous best round of 330 set in the opening round. Carnegie Mellon currently is in 11th after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 648. The three-day event is being played on the par-72, 5,801-yard Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The Tartans are currently tied for 12th-place after carding a season-best team score of 330 Friday, March 18 on the par-72, 5,801-yard course. The field is comprised of 23 Division III teams including 10 ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team earned individual medalist honors as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships concluded on Sunday, March 13. The 36-hole, two-day event was held at Red Tail Country Club in Sorrento, Florida, with the Tartans firing a final team score of 707 to finish third behind champion and 12th-ranked New York University and second-place finisher No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis.

The two-day, 36-hole event is being held on the Morgan River Course at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C.
