Women's Golf Tied for Sixth Following Opening Round of Golfweek DIII Fall Invite

(SANDESTIN, Fla.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play at the 2018 Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational on Sunday and are tied for sixth in a field of 18 teams after carding a 319. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played on the par 72, 5,804-yard Baytowne Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.

Senior Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) led the Tartans with an opening round score of 77. Freshman Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) is one-stroke behind Jordan after carding a 78.

Junior Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) shot an 80 while sophomore Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) freshman Grace Chen (Sunnyvale, Calif./Saint Francis) recorded rounds of 84 and 87, respectively.

The second round is set for Tuesday morning with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
