Four Tartans Named WGCA All-American Scholars

(CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.) – For the second consecutive year, four members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team have been named to the 2018-19 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization. Senior Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School), junior Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and sophomore Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) are repeat honorees with freshman Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) joining the trio.

A total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized from NCAA Division I, II and III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

The four were part of three team school records this past season. Two record fell at the Generals Invitational hosted by Washington & Lee University in October. The Tartans opened play with a 300 and then carded a two-round score of 604. The third record came at the Jekyll Island Collegiate where the Tartans set the lowest three-round score with a 912 to win the 21-team event.
