Women’s Golf Receives Academic Accolades for 2021-22 Season

The 2021-22 Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team received academic recognition from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) when the association announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for each division. The Tartans ranked seventh among NCAA Division III institutions. The 14-member Cardinal and Gray team finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.730.

For the third straight season, five members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team have been named to the 2021-22 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization. Senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman), junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School), sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) and freshmen Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) and Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) all were recognized. It also marks the fifth straight year four or more have been recognized.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team finished play at the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday tied for fourth after a 72-hole score of 1,206. The four-day championship was played on the par-72, 5,866-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

For the third straight season, multiple members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team earned All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) with two others earning regional recognition along with head coach Dan Rodgers who was named the Division III Golf Pride Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. It is also the third straight honor for Rodgers.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team finished play on Thursday with a 300 in the third round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship on the par-72, 5,866-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The Tartans now have a 54-hole score of 910 and currently are tied for fifth. Following play today, the field was cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day on Friday. Emory University holds the lead with a three-day score of 879.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team maintained tied for fourth following the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship. The Tartans fired a team score of 307 on Wednesday on the par-72, 5,866-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The Cardinal and Gray currently have a 36-hole score of 610 (303-307) while Emory University leads the 29-yeam filed with a 588 (292-296).

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team had three athletes honored by the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the awards were announced. Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) and freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) headlined the squad for the Tartans as first team selections with freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) landing a spot on the second team. This marks the third straight season Sudjianto has been honored by the league coaches.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. This marks the Tartans second straight appearance and third total in program history. The Tartans return to the national stage following a national runner-up finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships. This year’s championships will be held May 10-13, in Houston, Texas at the Bay Oaks Country Club. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Harris County-Houston Sports Authority will be hosting the four-day event.

The Tartans placed third in the 24-team field with a three-round total of 897 (299-300-298) on the par-72, 5,600-yard course at the Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island. The Tartans' 897 is the best 54-hole tournament score in the program history.

The Tartans fired a team score of 300 and are tied for fifth after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 599 (299-300). The three-day event is being played on the par-72, 5,600-yard Indian Mounds Golf Club on Jekyll Island with the field comprised of 24 teams.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf competed at the first day of the three-day, 54-hole Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mounds Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Georgia, on Friday. The Tartans are currently tied for fourth in a field of 24 teams after carding a team score of 299 Friday on the par-72, 5,600-yard course.
