Tartans Advance to UAA Championship Match Play Final Following 4-1 Win Over WashU

(PALM COAST, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday in a four-team match play format. The 2022 championships are being played at Hammock Beach Resort on the Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Florida. In the opening round, the Tartans faced Washington University in St. Louis and defeated the Bears 4-1.

Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte), junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School), senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) and freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) all were victorious on Saturday.

Mupparaju defeated Paige Warren 6-and-4, Sudjianto won 2-up over Caraline Oakley, Susanto defeated Sydney 2-up and Yeoh downed Krystina Wilson 3-and-2.

The Tartans will face the winner of Emory University and New York University on Sunday for the UAA Championship. The match between the Eagles and Violets was suspended due to darkness and will be continued Sunday morning. Emory is currently winning 1-0.
