Tartans Finish Second at UAA Championship Match Play

(PALM COAST, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship match play final Sunday against Emory University and dropped a 3-2 decision. The two-day, 36-hole championship was played at Hammock Beach Resort on the Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Florida.
Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) and junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) recorded the two points for the Tartans. Mupparaju defeated Heejo Hyun 1-up while Sudjianto won in 19 holes over Mariana Chong
Mupparaju and Sudjianto were named to the All-Tournament team after each won both of their matches during the championships.
The Tartans will next compete at the three-day Jekyll Island Invitational at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Georgia, beginning Friday, March 18.
