Tartans in Fourth After 18 Holes of BSC Classic

(BESSEMER, Ala.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed in the opening round of the Birmingham Southern College Classic on Monday and carded a 302. The Tartans are currently in fourth out of a field of 12 teams. The 36-hole event is being played at the Bent Brook Golf Course in Bessemer, Alabama, which is a par 72, 5,603-yard course.

Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) led the Tartans with a two-over par 74 and is tied for sixth individually in a field of 65.

Freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) sits a stroke back of Sudjianto after firing a three-over par 75. Senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) completed play Monday with a four-over par 76.

Sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) entered the clubhouse with a 77 while freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) ended the round with a 79.

Carnegie Mellon an individual compete at the event, as freshman Reeya Vasishta (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) carded a round of 78.

The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
