Women's Golf Tied for Fourth After Opening Round of 2022 NCAA Championship

(HOUSTON, Texas) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday held at the par-72, 5,866-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The Tartans are tied for fourth in the 29-team field after carding a 303 with Emory University leading the field with a 292.

Junior Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) is tied for fifth individually in a field of 151 golfers following her opening round of even par 72.

Sophomore Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) carded a 76 while senior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) ended round one with a 77. Freshman Kaylin Yeoh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) shot a 78 and freshman Sriya Mupparaju (San Diego, Calif./Del Norte) finished with an 80.

Second round play is set for Wednesday with the Tartans tee times are set to begin at 1:10 p.m. with Yeoh the first out. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be pared to 15 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete in the final day.
