Struble Heads Women’s USA Deaf Soccer Team at 2012 Deaf World Cup in Turkey

Carnegie Mellon University Head Women’s Soccer Coach Yon Struble will coach the USA Deaf Soccer women’s team in the Deaf World Cup, held in Ankara, Turkey July 16-28.

For Elsa Wu, one of the most decorated women’s soccer players in Carnegie Mellon University history, soccer provided everything she felt she needed in college. It was a friend outside of soccer, however, that helped land her a future away from Carnegie Mellon and soccer.
Women’s Soccer Athlete Anna Albi Earns Pat Blayden Spirit of Sport Award

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Anna Albi (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) of the women’s soccer program was named the Pat Blayden Spirit of Sport Award winner during Chatham College’s celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day on Friday, February 10. Chatham has hosted an awards banquet honoring high school and college female athletes for the past 17 years. At the banquet, three high school and one college athlete receive the Pat Blayden Spirit of Sport Award for their contributions in the classroom, athletic arena and community.
Women's Soccer Announces Summer Camp Dates

Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer head coach Yon Struble has announced summer camp dates for 2012. The program will host an elite camp and goalkeeping academy from Wednesday, August 1 through Saturday, August 4.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s soccer program, under the helm of head coach Yon Struble, announced the hiring of Shannon Agnew as full-time assistant coach. Agnew officially began January 15.
Team Earns Academic Honor from NSCAA

The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team earned the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Tartans are one of 572 women's teams to achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Wu is joined by five others who received recognition from the league’s coaches on Monday, November 14.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team closed out the regular season at #5 Emory University on Saturday, November 5. The Eagles prevailed 2-0 to preserve their undefeated season at 15-0-2 as the Tartans finish at 9-7 overall and 3-4 in the University Athletic Association.

Following a tough 3-2 loss to New York University, the Carnegie Mellon University women’s soccer team bounced back strong with a victory over Brandeis University, 1-0, Sunday, October 30. With the victory the Tartans improve to 9-6, (3-3 UAA) while the Judges are now 6-10-2 (0-5-1 UAA).

The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team fell in a tightly contested match, 3-2, to New York University on Friday, October 28, in Pittsburgh. The Tartans drop to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in the University Athletic Association while the Violets jump to 11-5 and 2-3.

The Tartans are now 8-5 on the year and 2-2 in the league while the #22 Spartans improve to 10-2-2 and 3-1.

Carnegie Mellon University freshman Savina Reid's (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff) goal in the 30th minute of play was all the Tartans needed to defeat the Maroons of Chicago on Sunday afternoon, October 9. The 1-0 victory for the Tartans improves their record to 7-4 and 1-1 in University Athletic Association (UAA) play while the 19th-ranked Maroons are now 6-4-1, 0-1-1.
