Tartans Fall Short in 1-0 Game at Emory

(ATLANTA, Ga.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for a Friday night contest against Emory University. The Tartans dropped the game by a 1-0 score moving their record to 7-7-1 for the year.

The Tartans put two shots on goal, as the Eagles scored on their only attempt on frame. The goal for the Eagles came in the 57th minute when Caroline Kolski found the net off a cross into the six-yard box by Abbe McCarter.

Two minutes after Kolski's goal, senior Kaily Bruch (Glenview, Ill. / Glenbrook South) registered the second shot on goal for the Tartans.

The Tartans continued to attack the Emory goal with sophomore Kristen Chong's (Fullerton, Calif. / Troy) shot being saved by Danielle Staffin in the 85th minute and junior Tara Durstewitz's (Old Bridge, N.J. / Old Bridge) shot hitting the post in the 87th minute.

The Tartans will next travel to the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, for a 1:30 p.m. contest against the Yellowjackets on Sunday, October 28.
