Tartans Selected to Host First/Second Rounds of NCAA Championship

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The 25th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship after finishing fourth in the University Athletic Association. The appearance in the NCAA tournament marks the seventh in eight years for the program which finished the regular season with an 11-5-1 overall mark.

The Tartans, who won three games against ranked opponents this year, will host a four-team regional on Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17. Joining Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh will be Cairn University (12-4-4), Arcadia University (15-3-3), and Swarthmore College (12-5).

The Tartans will face Cairn, the winners of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. with Arcadia, runner-up in the MAC Commonwealth Conference, meeting Swarthmore, an at-large selection from the Centennial Conference, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

The winners of each game will play Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in a second round contest.
