Tartan Women’s Soccer Received 18th United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team has been honored for its work in the classroom with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 13th consecutive year and 18th time overall.

The Tartans posted a 2019-20 team grade point average of 3.64. A total of 583 women's programs across the NCAA and NAIA earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award with a minimum GPA of 3.00. Seven Tartans earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall playing season while 14 of the 28-member squad had a 3.50 or better.

Carnegie Mellon was also one of 202 colleges and universities to have both its men's and women's teams honored.

The Tartans finished the 2019 campaign in the NCAA national semifinals and an overall record of 14-5-3. The trip to the national semifinals was the first in program history and the first time a women's team reached the final four in any sport at Carnegie Mellon.
