Tseng Named UAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming freshman Tiffany Tseng (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) was honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Swimmer of the Week for her efforts against Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, February 1. The award is the second of the season for Tseng.

Tseng was the leader for the Tartans, winning two events on the day. She out-touched JHU's Sydney Okubo in the 200-yard backstroke by nearly a full second in 2:04.45 while she was .05 seconds ahead of freshman teammate Bonnie Wang (Vancouver, BC / Collingwood School) in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 56.84. Tseng also picked up a second-place individual finish in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.91, just .05 seconds off the winner, and was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay which placed second.

The Tartans continue the season at the UAA Championships with competition starting on Wednesday, February 12 at the University of Chicago.
