Divers Show Strong Performances at NCAA Regional

(ITHACA, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team had three divers compete at the 2020 NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships over the weekend at Ithaca College.

Freshman Emilia Schwallie (Weston, Mass. / Weston) recorded a career-best score on the 3-meter board Saturday when she tallied 418.15 points to place sixth. Junior Maddie Mianzo (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) turned in a season-best score on the 3-meter board with a total of 406.90 points to place 11th. Junior Lillie Widmayer (Old Bridge N.J. / West Windsor Plainsboro) finished 15th on the 3-meter with a score of 395.95.

On Friday afternoon, Mianzo was 18th on the 1-meter with a score of 371.20, Widmayer was 20th with a score of 363.10, while Schwallie was 22nd with a score of 360.45

The NCAA will announce selections to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Monday, March 2. The championship event will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, from March 18-21.
