Schwallie Headed to NCAA Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Freshman Emilia Schwallie (Weston, Mass. / Weston) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team has earned the right to compete at the 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships after her performance at the NCAA Region 4 Diving Championships over the weekend. Schwallie will join nine women's swimmers competing for national titles on March 18-21 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Schwallie recorded a career-best score on the 3-meter board Saturday afternoon at the diving regional with 418.15 points to place sixth. With her finish on Saturday and four top-five finishers from Friday afternoon's 1-meter results repeating in the top-five, Schwallie earned one of 10 bids from the region.

Schwallie is the first freshman to compete in diving at the national meet for the Tartans since Julia Pavia in 2003.
