CSCAA Scholar All America

(NORFOLK, Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as four individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.

The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The women's team earned a 3.61 GPA for the spring semester and also earned the award following the fall semester in which they recorded a 3.64 team GPA.

Individuals who achieved a 3.50 GPA or better for the year and either met a provisional time standard or competed at the NCAA Championships were honored.

Due to the cancellation of the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and lack of outside competition for the Tartans, the four members who met a provisional time standard in the home intersqaud meet earned Scholar All-America Honorable Mention honors.

Senior Jessica Chau (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) earned her third award while senior Maddie Mianzo (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned her second recognition. Sophomore Aidan Pinto (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Hills) and freshman Kelli Kuramoto (Los Altos, Calif. / Los Altos) were both honored for the first time.
