Tartans Set Multiple Season-Best Times in Third Dual Meet Victory

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team won its third dual meet of the season with a 199-63 score at home against Washington and Lee University.

Top Performances

  • Freshman Annie Wang set two new season-best times by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle races for the third time this season in times of 10:36.44 and 5:12.25, respectively.
  • Freshman Eliana Szabo touched first in the 200-yard freestyle in a team-best time of 1:55.55. She also won the 100-yard freestyle for the third time with a season-best time of 52.62 and became a triple winner for the day with a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in another season-best time of 59.07.
  • Senior Tiffany Tseng won the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 57.98.
  • Freshman Audrey Lambert won the 100-yard breaststroke for the third straight meet with a time of 1:06.62. She also won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.18 for the second time and touched first in the 200-yard IM in 2:09.75 in her first time swimming the event.
  • Freshman Audrey Soetanto set a season-best time in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:07.38. It was her second time winning the event this year.
  • Freshman Savannah Xu led a sweep of the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.29, winning the event for the second time.
  • Both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays won for the third time this year.

Diving Results vs. Kenyon

  • Junior Kelli Kuramoto placed first on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards for the second time this season while setting two more NCAA regional qualifying marks with season-best scores of 302.48 and 302.55 after six dives, respectively.
  • Senior Emilia Schwallie also hit two NCAA regional qualifying scores while placing second on each board with scores of 261.08 on the 1-meter and 269.55 on the 3-meter.

  • The Tartans will travel to Gambier, Ohio, to swim in the three-day Kenyon Invitational beginning on Thursday, November 17 while the divers will host an invitational on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19.
