The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the sixth straight season and 13th time in the last 14 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, eight players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Sophomore Vanessa Pavia (Thornwood, N.Y./Academy of our Lady of Good Counsel) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team earned All-America honors at the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Thursday, May 21. The sophomore won her first round match before falling in three sets in the round of 16.

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team played third-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) on Monday, May 18 in the quarterfinals of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, and eventually finished indoors at the Camargo Raquet Club. The teams battled through a pair of rain delays before the Athenas defeated the Tartans, 5-1.

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team defeated 15th-ranked University of Chicago on Sunday, May 10 by a 5-1 score to advance to the national quarterfinals of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship for the second consecutive year. The win improves the Tartans' record to 17-6 on the season.

The Tartans are now 16-6 on the year.

When the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Committee selected individuals and doubles teams to compete in the 2015 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships, Carnegie Mellon University, ranked fifth nationally, found three of its athletes on the list. Sophomore Vanessa Pavia (Thornwood, N.Y./Academy of our Lady of Good Counsel), ranked tops in the Atlantic South, was selected to play in singles competition while the Tartans No. 1 doubles duo of senior Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) and freshman Cori Sidell (Redwood Shores, Calif./Carlmont) will compete in doubles play.

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Vanessa Pavia (Thornwood, N.Y./Academy of our Lady of Good Counsel) was named Women’s Tennis’ Most Valuable Player of the University Athletic Association (UAA) by the tennis coaches of the Association, as announced Thursday, April 30. Pavia was joined by five other teammates on the All-UAA teams. Head Coach Andrew Girard and his staff of assistant coaches, Mike Belmonte and Sarah Short, were honored as Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year.
