Qiang Garners All-UAA Honors

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Megan Qiang (Cleveland, Ohio / Hathaway Brown School) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend. Qiang led the Tartans to two 9-0 victories.

The sophomore went 2-0 in doubles and singles play and didn't surrender a game in singles winning 6-0, 6-0, in both matches after playing in the sixth spot against Grove City College and the fifth spot against Franciscan University. The sophomore teamed with Farida Abdelmoneum in doubles for both matches. The tandem won 8-0 at third doubles over Grove City and 8-1 at the second spot over Franciscan.

On the young season, Qiang is now 4-0 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles.

The Tartans will next play Division I Saint Francis University on Friday, March 19 before heading to Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania om Sunday, March 21.
