Cornwall, Zheng Invited to NCAA Women's Individual Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - Junior Lindy Cornwall (Poway, Calif. / Poway) and sophomore Bin Zheng (Miami, Fla. / Doral Academy) have been selected to play for the NCAA Division III Women's Individual Championships to be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from Friday, May 28 through Sunday, May 30. Cornwall was selected to the singles bracket and will also pair with Zheng in the doubles bracket.

The appearance on the national stage will be the first both Cornwall and Zheng although they did pair together in the fall of 2019 at the ITA Cup.

Cornwall has a singles record of 11-3 including an 8-3 mark in the first position this year. As a sophomore, Cornwall turned it on and finished the shortened season with an 18-3 singles record. Her career tally of 35 singles wins in what amounts to two seasons is 25th in program history.

As a doubles tandem, Cornwall and Zheng have an 11-3 record but are undefeated against Division III opponents this season. Last year, the pair finished 12-4 through the fall season. 

The bracket for the individual championships will be released on May 26 but not before 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
