#11 Tartans Dropped 5-4 Battle at #12 Case Western Reserve

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to play University Athletic Association and 12th-ranked foe Case Western Reserve University. The Tartans dropped a 5-4 match to the Spartans and now have a dual match record to 15-4 while Case Western Reserve is now 12-3.

Inside the Results:

  • Carnegie Mellon trailed 2-1 after doubles with its win coming at the third spot. The tandem of sophomore Zoe Angell and freshman Anna Chow won an 8-2 match.
  • The Spartans then took the first three points in singles play to seal the victory.
  • The Tartans collected the final three points of the match with sophomore Crystal Zhou winning at second, freshman Anika Joshi winning at the five spot and Angell at six singles.

Next Up

  • The Tartans will host Allegheny College on Sunday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a match with Duquesne University at 2:00 p.m.
