Women’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2018 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on each list for the 22nd consecutive year. A total of 106 men's teams and 185 women's teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better for the 2017-18 academic year.
Lindsey Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-American

Sophomore Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country and track and field teams was named to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Cross Country/Track & Field Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Two Women Honored on CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

Carnegie Mellon University senior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) and sophomore Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene) have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-District Team for women’s cross country and track and field. Cook earned her second career Academic All-District honor while Lindsey earned her first in her first year of eligibility.
Outdoor Track and Field Garners 14 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 14 Mideast All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2018 outdoor track and field season. Nine represent the women while five represent the men with three receiving multiple honors.

Karabin Earns All-America Honor in Pole Vault at NCAA Championships

Sophomore Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s outdoor track and field team earned All-America recognition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is hosting the championships this year.

Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field athletes have qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 24-26. Seniors Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) and Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton), along with sophomore Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) made the field and will represent the Tartans.

Tartans Compete at 13th Annual Gator Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the 13th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday. Junior Autumn Hair (Blue Bell, Pa. / Wissahickon) placed in the top six in three events while senior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.26 and junior Alexa Barriero (Middletown, N.J. / Middletown North) placed second in the javelin with a mark of 35.23 meters.
Two Named Athlete of the Week by ECAC

Two Carnegie Mellon University athletes were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) when the organization announced its weekly award winners this week. women's track and field senior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) and freshman Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) from men's track and field were the award winners.
