Ciriello, Levine and Bhanja Record Career Bests at Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic
(LEWISBURG, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team sent four athletes to the two-day Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
Senior Rose Ciriello (Madison, N.J. / Madison) ran to career-best performances in the both the 1,500-meter on Saturday and the 800-meter on Sunday. Her performance in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:38 placed her in the top-five all time in Carnegie Mellon history. Ciriello improved upon her top five performance in the 800-meter with a time of 2:14.
Junior Abigail Levine (Bethesda, Md. / Bethesda Chevy Chase) also set a personal record at the meet when she finished the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:41 placing her within the top five all time in school history.
Senior Debarati Bhanja (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany) placed 11th in the 400-meter in a time of 57.84, improving upon her top performance to place second in school history. Bhanja also placed 13th in the 200-meter in a time of 25.88.
The Tartans will compete next at the Slippery Rock University Last Chance Qualifier on April 18.
