Reiling Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Senior Valerie Reiling (Concord, Mass./Concord Carlisle Regional) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team has been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as a Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-America selection. Reiling landed a spot on the third team. It marks the 10th time a Tartan women's track and field and cross country athlete has received the accolade.

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2021 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list for the 25th consecutive year. A total of 160 men's teams and 214 women's teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 or better for the 2020-21 academic year.

Carnegie Mellon University senior Valerie Reiling (Concord, Mass./Concord Carlisle Regional) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Team, as announced by the association. Reiling is one of ten athletes selected to the District 4 team and one of two with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.3 or better.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 18 Mideast All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2021 outdoor track and field season. Thirteen represent the men while five represent the women with four men receiving multiple honors and one woman.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team took five members to the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by St. John Fisher in Pittsford, N.Y., for a two-day competition. Those five athletes helped the team finish 22nd.
