Tartans Claim Seventh Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

The 2022 Carnegie Mellon University volleyball program has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for its performance in the classroom by being named a recipient of the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award. This marks the Cardinal and Gray's seventh consecutive season earning the award.
Yan Named Academic All-America

The Carnegie Mellon University Athletics Program collected another fall accolade on Wednesday, as volleyball senior setter Stella Yan was named to the 2022 Academic All-America volleyball first team, selected by the College Sports Communicators. Yan, who is one of 22 student-athletes across Division III to appear on the list for volleyball, became the sixth Tartan this fall to be honored at the highest level for their academic and athletic success.

Carnegie Mellon University volleyball senior setter Stella Yan was recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The senior was received Division III Volleyball All-ECAC Second Team accolades.
Tartans Place 24 on Academic All-District Teams

Twenty-four Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the fall season. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.
Yan Named First Team All-UAA, Three Others Honored

Senior setter Stella Yan (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) when the squads were announced Friday. Joining Yan as honorable mention honorees were junior middle blocker Jane Dean (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier), sophomore libero Abby Chen (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) and freshman outside hitter Elizabeth Schlemmer (Centerville, Ohio / Archbishop Alter).
Tartans Concluded Season in Regional Semifinal of the NCAA Tournament

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday evening and dropped a 3-0 decision to seventh-ranked Berry College. The three-day regional event is being played at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tartans Advance in NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 Win Over Southern Virginia

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team opened the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 win against Southern Virginia University on Thursday at Transylvania University. The victory moves the Tartans record to 21-8 while the Knights ended their season at 27-8.
Tartans Return to NCAA Championship Tournament

After a one-year hiatus, the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team is returning to the postseason after receiving an at-large bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. The Tartans are making their second appearance in the national tournament under the direction of four-year head coach Anne Bock, and the eighth overall appearance in program history.

Tartans to Play in UAA Third-Place Match

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team opened the University Athletic Association (UAA) championship with a come from behind 3-2 victory over the University of Chicago to advance to the semifinal match. In the semifinals, the Tartans face ninth ranked Washington University in St. Louis and dropped a five-set match to the Bears. The championships are being played at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and are being hosted by NYU. The Tartans are now 20-7 overall and will play in the third-place match on Saturday.
Tartans Sweep Denison and Brockport to End Regular Season

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team closed the regular season with a home sweep of Denison University and SUNY Brockport on Saturday, October 29. The Tartans topped both opponents by 3-0 scores to move to 19-6 overall.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted the Terriers of Hiram College Friday night in Weigand Gymnasium. The Tartans won 3-0 to improve to 17-6 overall while Hiram is now 12-12.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team closed the weekend in the Wid Guisler Invitational at Juniata College with a 3-0 win and a 3-1 win against York College and Smith College on Saturday, October 22. The Tartans are now 16-6 for the season.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team faced second-ranked Juniata College on Friday, October 21 in its first of three games in the Wid Guisler Invitational hosted by Juniata. The Tartans fell 3-0 but not before battling to set scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-23.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team visited Greenville, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday evening and left with a 3-1 victory against Presidents' Athletic Conference leader, Thiel College. The Tartans are now 14-5 for the season while Thiel moves to 15-9.
