Tartans Concluded Season in Regional Semifinal of the NCAA Tournament
(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday evening and dropped a 3-0 decision to seventh-ranked Berry College. The three-day regional event is being played at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
- Junior Laura Reichard led the attack for the Cardinal and Gray with 10 kills with freshmen Bella Woodard and Katherine Jackson both finished with six.
- Senior Stella Yan dished out 23 assists.
- Junior Mindee Lai had 11 digs which was tops for Carnegie Mellon as Yan added 10.
- Freshman Kai Herchenroether led the Tartans at the net with one block solo and one block assist.
Notes
- This was the Tartans fourth appearance in the second round of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.
- This season was the second appearance in the national tournament under the direction of four-year head coach Anne Bock, and the eighth overall appearance in program history.
- Stella Yan finishes her career ranked seventh all-time with 2,347 assists.
Records
- Carnegie Mellon ends the season with an overall record of 20-9, while the Vikings improve to 25-4.
