Seballos Leads Tartans at Yinzer Invitational
(CLINTON, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team started its 2021 season at the Yinzer Invitational held at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening. The field was comprised of runners from Division I, II and III with Duquesne, Pittsburgh, Robert Morris, Saint Francis (Pa.), Youngstown State and Seton Hill all competing with the Tartans. The women placed fifth with 132 points with Duquesne winning the event with 35.
Senior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) led the Tartans after crossing in 15:33.8 to place 14th. Graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) placed 19th with a time of 15:39.0.
Freshman Alyssa Hoffman (Watsontown, Pa. / Warrior Run) crossed 27th with a time of 15:54.9. Classmate Cora Marcet (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) had a time of 16:10.1 to place 33rd while sophomore Megan Baker (Exton, Pa. / B. Reed Henderson) completed the Tartan scoring after crossing in 39th with a time of 16:16.1.
Carnegie Mellon will run again at the Robert Morris Invitational on Friday, September 17. The race will be held again at Youthtowne.
