Tartans Awarded Bid to 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team received an at-large invitation to the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships marking the fourth straight bid for the Tartans. This year's race will be hosted by Spalding University at the Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 20. The team appearance marks the seventh in program history.

Carnegie Mellon received the invite after placing third at the Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday, November 13. All seven Tartan competitors finished in the top 30 to earn all-region accoladeds. Freshman Cora Marcet (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) led the Tartans with a 14th-place finish.

The Tartans received one of 22 at-large bids and will join the field of 32 in Kentucky where the team placed 24th at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

The women's race will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET, following the men's race at 11:00 a.m. ET.
