Tartans Place 30th at NCAA Championships

(EAST LANSING, Mich.) – On a snowy day in Michigan, the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team raced in the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships held at Forest Akers in East Lansing. In its fifth straight appearance at the national meet, the Tartans placed 30th out of the 32 competing teams.

Top Performances

  • Graduate Student Kristen Seballos was running in her third NCAA Championship and led the Tartans with a 133rd place finish in 23:42.4.
  • Senior Mona Yuan was behind Seballos in 192nd place in 24:04.4
  • Sophomore Alyssa Hoffman was the third Tartan to cross the finish line and placed 208th in 24:10.8.
  • Junior Megan Baker finished the race in 24:15.0 and was 214th.
  • The fifth to score for the Tartans was junior Sophia Zalewski who placed 253rd in 24:39.1.
  • The final two runners for the Tartans were sophomore Lauryn McKenna and senior Kavya Tummalapalli who finished in times of 24:57.3 and 25:16.9, respectively.
