Brian Xu - Men's Golf

Senior Brian Xu of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team led the Tartans to a team victory at the 12-team, 54-hole The Visit Florence Intercollegiate. The Tartans won the event by 10 strokes over top ranked Methodist and finished 20 strokes ahead of third place and second-ranked Emory after carding a team score of 11-under par 853. the second lowest three-round score in program history. In the final round, Xu recorded the program's first ever hole-and-one which came on the 160-yard, par 3 13th hole. The senior finished the round even par and ended the 54-hole event with a four-under par 212 (68-72-72), placing seventh. During his opening round score of four-under par 68, Xu eagled hole 12 and was the only golfer to record two eagles throughout the 54-hole event. His round of 68 also tied for the lowest round over the three rounds.
