Williams Named PAC Defensive Player of the Week, Honored by D3football.com

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Adrian Williams (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week and landed a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week following his play Saturday in the Tartans' 30-12 win over Saint Vincent College.

Williams had four tackles, three solo, and three interceptions while adding a pair of additional pass breakups in the win. His three interceptions are tied for the second most in a single game in Division III this season. Williams' three interceptions also tied the program record, as in 2005, Aaron Lewis and Jon Menhart both had three interceptions in Carnegie Mellon's win at Colorado College. Williams is tied for the PAC lead with five interceptions this season.

Carnegie Mellon will be idle next Saturday before heading to Cleveland, Ohio for the 36th Academic Bowl against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, November 12. Kick is set for 2:00 p.m.
