Knauth Named UAA Men’s Golf Player of the Year; Lim Named to All-UAA Squad while Coach Staff Honored

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year, as voted on by the association coaches. Li, also a first-team selection, is joined by senior Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) who garnered second team accolades. The Tartan coach staff, under the direction of Dan Rodgers along with assistant coach Colleen Myers were named UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Tartans currently rank fifth nationally in the latest Division III Golfstat rankings and are competing in their fifth NCAA Championship Tournament and third straight.

Knauth leads Division III in scoring average this season through 22 rounds with a 71.0. He has recorded 15 rounds this season of even par or under. Knauth as claimed two individual medalist honors at the Division III Showcase and Wabash Invitational. He owns two school records with the lowest 18-hole round of six-under par 65 in back-to-back rounds at the 2021 Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational and recently tied the lowest 36-hole tournament score at the Division III Showcase with a 137. At the UAA Championship match play, Knauth was named the tournament Most Valuable Golfer.

Lim ranks third on the team with a scoring average of 74.5 competing in all 22 rounds. The senior recorded his collegiate career-low round of three-under par 68 during the opening round of The Savannah Invitational. Lim has recorded eight rounds of even par or better this season.
