Joshi Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Akshay Joshi was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for helping the 22nd-ranked Tartans over the weekend split a pair of matches.

Joshi went 2-0 at sixth singles as he claimed the final point in a 5-4 win over Stevens on Friday. Joshi defeated Samvid Andhare 7-6 (5), 6-1. On Saturday in the Tartans 5-4 setback to #13 Swarthmore, Joshi collected a come-from-behind win at six singles winning by the scores of 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11).

The Tartans will travel to Texas for spring break and play at 14th-ranked Trinity University on Tuesday, March 5.
