McLaughlin Named UAA Runner Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Colin McLaughlin of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events. The junior earns the honor following his performance at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

McLaughlin topped his own school record in the 3,000-meter run, crossing in 8:10.30. He was also part of the distance medley relay that placed ninth in a season-best 9:54.39. His time in the 3,000-meter run is tops in the UAA and ranks 15th nationally while the DMR time is also tops in the UAA and ranks fifth nationally.

The Tartans will travel to Penn State University on Friday, February 16 to compete at Penn State Last Chance at 2:30 p.m. and to the University of Mount Union on Saturday, February 17 to compete at the Mount Union Tune-Up.
