#11 Tartans Run Streak to Eight Straight with a 9-0 Win Over #30 Mary Washington
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team hosted the 30th-ranked Eagles of the University of Mary Washington on Saturday and won its eighth straight match with a 9-0 victory. The win improves the Tartans record to 15-3 while the Eagles are now 5-7.
Inside the Results:
- The Tartans swept doubles play with the top tandem of junior Danna Taylor and sophomore Crystal Zhou claiming the final point with an 8-4 win.
- Carnegie Mellon also swept singles.
- Taylor then tabbed the first point of singles play for the Cardinal and Gray with a 6-2, 7-5 victory in the two spot.
- Sophomore Sarah Yang sealed the Tartans 15th dual match victory with a straight set decision at first singles, winning 6-4, 6-3.
Notes
- It marked the 11th time this season the Tartans swept doubles play.
- It was the sixth match this season that the Tartans won 9-0.
- Zhou along with freshman Manuela Van Cotthem have won seven straight single matches.
- Taylor and Zouh have also won seven straight double matches.

- The Tartans will travel to Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, April 8 to play 12th-ranked Case Western Reserve University.
