#10 Tartans Blank Division II Southern New Hampshire to Open Spring Trip

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 10th nationally in Division III, opened its spring break trip to Orlando, Florida, with a 7-0 blanking of Division II Southern New Hampshire on Monday. The Tartans are now 6-4 in dual play.

How it Happened:

  • The Tartans won the doubles point after collecting victories at all three spots.
  • The second doubles tandem of junior Sarah Yang and sophomore Anna Chow won 6-0 before then tandem of sophomore Anika Joshi and freshman Elaine Qian won in the three spot by the score of 6-1.
  • The Tartans top duo of senior Danna Taylor and junior Zoe Angell won 6-3.
  • Singles play saw a Tarans sweep with Taylor clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles.

  • The Tartans will next compete on Thursday with a pair of matches against Christopher Newport and Concordia Wisconsin in Orlando, Florida.
