Seballos Records Personal-Best Time in 5,000 at Dave Labor Invitational

(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team traveled to Slippery Rock University on Saturday to compete in the Dave Labor Invitational.

Junior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) won the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 18:26.51.

Sophomore Samantha Giordani (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ambridge) turned in a first and second place showing on Saturday. The sophomore won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.04 and placed second with a time of 12:41 in the 100-meter dash. Freshman Isabella Rhee (Midland, Mich. / H.H. Dow) ran the 200-meter dash and placed sixth after crossing in 27.58.

Junior Taylor Jacobs (Bozeman, Mont. / The Taft School) and sophomore Carmen Andrade (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico / Ramey) recorded personal-bests at the invitational. Jacobs ran the 1,500-meter race in 5:00.76 while Andrade crossed the line in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.11.

In the pole vault, freshman JoJo Huczko (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) placed second after clearing the bar at 3.08 meters

Carnegie Mellon will next compete at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, April 11.
