Barre and Giordani Receive Invites to NCAA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Juniors Junior Liz Barre (Ithaca, N.Y. / Taft) and Samantha Giordani (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ambridge) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's indoor track and field athletes have received an invite to compete at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 11-12.

Barre qualified for the championships following her performance in the pentathlon at the All-Atlantic Regional Indoor Championships this past weekend. The junior set the school record with 3,366 points and ranks eighth in the field.

Giordani will compete in the 200-meter dash and will be ranked 12th with a qualifying time of 25.37. The junior does hold the school record in the event that she set in 2020 after crossing in 25.31.

This year's championships will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with Visit Winston-Salem and Guilford College serving as hosts.
