Tartans Run at Dickinson Long-Short Invitational

(NEWVILLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday. The Tartans had runners compete in both the 6k and 4k races. The Tartans placed second in the 4k while taking fourth in the 6k with 132 points.

4k Team Scores: Washington and Lee 6, Carnegie Mellon 31, Shippensburg 35
Location: Newville, Pennsylvania (Big Spring High School)

Results from the 6k race:

  • Leading the Tartans was sophomore Orit Shiang placing sixth overall with a time of 22:37.2
  • Junior Lauryn McKenna finished 26th in 23:32.3.
  • Third to cross for the Tartans was freshman Maya Ducker in 23:37.8 to place 29th.
  • Juniors Alyssa Hoffman and Avery Tompkins crossed 33rd and 38th with a times of 23:45 and 23:57.1, respectively.

Results from the 4k race:

  • Freshman Lily Beerhalter crossed first for the Tartans and sevenh overall in 14:57.2.
  • The second Tartan to cross was sophomore Margaret Ann Healy in 10th with a time of 15:05.0.
  • Rounding out the Tartans scoring in the 4k was senior Isabella Rhee finishing 11th in 15:16.4.
